Job Responsibilities:

Life Builders International is making a difference in the lives of people in Guatemala. Roads in many parts of the country are often poor or non-existent. Most often, the best and safest way to get there is to use aircraft. You could have a career with impact as a Fixed-Wing Ministry Pilot and Mechanic in this country. This position supports Life Builders International programs and projects by providing safe and reliable air transportation. We provide flights for other ministries, flying route to Gutemala city from feeding center at Lake Atitlan open to the public, and flying our teams for mission purposes. Pilots will fly a Cessna 182 and a Lake Buccaneer. The founder is a flight instructor that can teach route and airplanes.

A day in the life of a Ministry Pilot and Mechanic:

At Life Builders International the Gospel really is the center of all we do! We focus on evangelism, discipleship, and our feeding center. So the airplane is more of a car that helps us and others do ministry. Flying is 2-5 flights per week and the rest of the time is spent advancing the mnistry in other areas.

The role of Ministry Pilot and Mechanic, you will have the opportunity to:

 Maintain your personal relationship with Jesus Christ and be an effective witness for Him in a spirit filled environment.
 Perform pilot duties, including filing flight plans, obtaining weather data and interpreting the information for flights, completing aircraft weight and balances for flights, loading and unloading passenger luggage and cargo
 Coordinate with the ministriys founder all scheduled maintenance and repair needs to ensure aircraft are properly maintained
 Perform duties associated with the feeding center as your base location
 Repair and maintain aircraft ground support equipment
 Perform line service duties including refueling
 Clean interiors and exteriors of aircraft
 Assist in maintaining hangar facilities and hospitality property to meet the highest possible standards of appearance
 Assist with loading and unloading of the aircraft at home base and enroute destinations.Keep the aircraft clean, neat, and polished when home and away from the home base including sanitizing the aircraft restroom facilities after each flight.
 Assist in the maintenance, repair, and cleaning of the hangar and property
 Perform pre-flights and post-flights to ensure safety of flight
 Represent Life Builders International as a professional God honoring ministry when dealing with donors, government officials, and others
 Overnight stays from home may be needed om approximately 35% of the time and up to 30 days at a time when a humanitarian crisis may arise
 Assess, manage, and report critical physical, emotional, or spiritual concerns of staff
 All other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Experience:

 Minimum of 200 hours flight time as the founder can teach you the airstrips, weather, and routes
 Ability to obtain Second Class Medical
 FAA Commercial Pilot Certificate – Airplane Single Engine Land with Instrument Rating
 A&P preferred but not required, but need to fare share in helping with maintenance

Type: Full-Time

Travel Expectations: Approximately 30% of the time there is an overnight at the mission base waiting for return passengers, so that we are not making unnecessary flights and waisting resouces.
